Jobless rate jumps to 8.6 per cent in Canada, USA 10 per cent.

I think after the initial economic windfall of global stimulus spending has made its way through the economy we will be in for a rude awakening. Full time jobs will continue to be lost and unemployment will increase to the point where the numbers of personal bankruptcies and foreclosures will reach epidemic proportions. The next bailout package may very well be a moratorium on all debt. It will the only way to reboot the economy.

The Recessions Over! Unemployed Will Disagree

On October 29, 2009 The American Government reported that the recession which officially started in December 2007 may finally be over. Or is it? Even though gross domestic product (an indicator of economic growth) rose 3.5% in the third quarter when compared to the second quarter of 2008. Unemployment is continuing to rise and is predicted to remain "severely elevated" throughout the year. According to White House adviser, Christina Romer. So what do you do if you are one of the 15.1 million Americans left to wonder whether or not they can make it through another stressful month? Downsize?
