Intention and Intuition… what has one got to do with the other?
Have you ever been in a life threatening situation where time has slowed down, or perhaps even seemed to stop? Perhaps it was a car accident where everything around you moving in slow motion, your in the zone a place where time doesn’t exist. A place where only your intuition guides you. Your intuition is your life line and connects you to a higher level of knowing, guidance and certainty. Intuition will never fail you and protects you.
Athletes have often talked about how time slows down during instances of peak performance. It has happened to me on hundreds of occasions during my football playing days and football officiating career. Believe me it really is an incredible experience and one that I would love to turn on at will!
Time slows down, intuition takes over and the results are certain especially when faced with personal injury. Intuition takes over once you have a clearly defined intention. In the case of a car accident your intention is clear, personal survival. Your intention to survive of course is a result of your 100% attention to your current, possibly life threatening situation. Your attention therefore is an absolute must when developing an intention. For example your passenger may not experience the same calmness and knowing that you do, letting out screams of horror and uncontrolled panic. They were not watching the road with the same focus as you.
Without intention, intuiton leaves you to yourself.
So what ever it is you do, in order to have intuition on our side you must develop a clear intention of where you are going or wish to accomplish. Your strongest intentions, the ones that super charge your intuition are those which come about from following your excitement. Do what really makes you happy. Get involved in something that can capture your 100% attention. A place where your intentions are more easily defined and formulated. Now your intuition has something to work on, all you have to do now is listen.
If you are not having fun your intuition is probably telling you your attention is on something else. Follow your excitement.
